I am a Light and Illumination artist, making indoor and outdoor immersive, 2D and 3D work. The images here emphasize large-scale work and gallery exhibitions. I grew up without manufactured Light in a farming community in India, living with natural Light and shadows. I now explore manufactured Light. Light is a natural and democratic medium and metaphors linking Light to knowledge, awareness, thought, ideas are abundant: “enlightenment,” “bright ideas,” “flashes of genius.”

In addition to discrete work, I really like making installations that tactically and dimensionally transform everyday places and gallery spaces with programmed Light and color (and sound) so as to entice the viewer to slow down and contemplate light and color and genuineness in their own lives.

Garg has been a resident at Gallery Aferro, and a studio member at Project for Empty Space. He has had solo exhibitions at the Novado Gallery, the Affordable Art Fair – NY and the Visual Arts Gallery at NJ City University. Additionally, he has exhibited in many group shows on invitation by curators, e.g., Index Art Center, Gallery 14 Maple, Walsh Gallery, Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, Queens Museum, Flushing Town Hall, Hammond Museum, and Newark Museum. Large scale public art installations (in and outdoors) have been seen in Chelsea, Bushwick, Newark, Key West, Madison, Wi, Summit, NJ, Philadelphia, Long Beach Island, in botanical gardens, a beach and a tidal marsh.
