Rusty Apparitions

This piece is hand crocheted and suspended in the middle of the gallery space to be seen in the round. The central hole is meant to reference the female anatomy and operate as a peep hole. I wanted to play with the transparency of using very fine silk Mohair. Just out of frame of the image are a series of decorative chains pulling at the piece to be splayed open. This piece is rooted in trauma, the desire to be seen and heard, but also to disappear.
