Tropical Tan

“Tropical Sunset” is a self-portrait with a sunset as skin. The work addresses my personal relationship as a transplant from Jamaica dealing with the external and internal definitions of intersectionality, alienation and “double-consciousness”. The work was included in the 2019 exhibition entitled “Summer Exhibition” at the National Gallery of Jamaica, in Kingston.
