FLATWORK PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT WITH SHOSHANNA WEINBERGER

This workshop webinar will walk you through making a basic portfolio step by step.
A portfolio is a great way to store works on paper and keep it safe. In this demonstration, you will see various examples and learn how to make a portfolio using D.I.Y. materials. Attendees will also receive a downloadable step-by-step handout and a list of materials.

 


 

About the Presenter:
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, raised in Montclair, NJ, Shoshanna Weinberger received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1995 and MFA from Yale School of Art in 2003. Living and working in Newark, NJ since 2006, she is currently a Project for Empty Space (PES) studio member. Weinberger’s work is rooted in an exploration of her Caribbean-American heritage. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous invitational group and soloexhibitions. A recipient of several awards, residencies, and grants that include: 2014 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters andSculptors Grant; 2015 Joan Mitchell Center, Art-in-Residence, New Orleans; 2016 Fellowship from the New Jersey StateCouncil of the Arts; 2017-2018 Project for Empty Space, Art-in-Residence, Newark, NJ; 2019-2020 McMillan Stewart EndowedChair in Painting, Maryland Institute College of Art; and 2021 Sunroom Project Artist, Wavehill, Bronx, NY. In addition to her professional studio art career, Weinberger held the position as Collection Manager at the LaSalle National Bank’s Photography Collection, Chicago, IL (1995-2001) and recently worked 14 years with leading art storage company Crozier Fine Arts, Newark, NJ (2006-2020). With over 20 years experience in the art administration, inventory and storage management business, she uses these skills in her daily studio practice.
