Former ARTnews editor and editorial strategist Robin Cembalest offers tips for describing your art, from materials and process to intention and meaning. Using examples from Instagram, artist statements, and promotional materials, she’ll empower participants to improve their language and messaging across digital and editorial platforms. An early art-world adapter to social media, Robin Cembalest has spent her career training arts professionals to communicate effectively. In 2014, after 16 years as executive editor of ARTnews, she launched her business Robin Cembalest Editorial Strategies, helping institutions and individuals to adapt to the changing digital landscape. She speaks often on social media and career development at schools and residencies and offers webinars for artists on the platform An award-winning investigative journalist who has published widely in the art and mainstream press, she is best known today as @rcembalest, handle of her popular Instagram and Twitter feeds.
