Travel With Care

Coywolf is guardian saint born of three fathers – Egyptian god Anubis bequeaths his role as a non-judgemental guide through transformation, Saint Christopher confers his guardianship of travelers, and Coyote passes on his trickster spirit. In this painting, our Coywolf hero is pictured carrying three-year-old Syrian refugee Aylan Kurdi high above the water. In 2015 a haunting photo of Aylan’s small body face down in the sand finally brought the Syrian refugee crisis to the world stage. The title Travel with Care can be read both as an appeal towards caution and hope that travelers be met with care and kindness.
